Frank "Cheech" Bartolotti was a pioneer of Mt. Morris athletics history and was an outstanding 3-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. He was a star fullback on our football team over a 4 year varsity career who was well regarded as one of the best players around. On the basketball court, he was one of the leading scorers for the Blue Devils over his high school career. His top sport was baseball where he was a star pitcher and also played multiple infield positions for both our high school and town teams. He was the top player on our 1935 baseball team who helped lead Mt. Morris to win the Livingston County title and made it to the Section V finals. In 1936, he was again the star of both our high school and town baseball teams. He was renowned by many people from that era as one of the best baseball players in Mt. Morris history. He was scouted by the Rochester Red Wings to potentially play professional baseball, but unfortunately, he was unable to find reliable transportation to get to Rochester to further show off his talents to them. After his playing career, he went on to manage the local Mt. Morris and Sonyea town teams.
