MMCSD is celebrating Read Across America Week! JH/SH students will be reading to elementary students throughout the week and there is a different dress up theme each day: Tuesday: Wear your favorite hat, Wednesday: Wear clothes inside out, backwards or mismatched, Thursday: Wear a number or red and blue, Friday: Wear your favorite or wildest socks.
7th grade students recently completed a project where they were able to write and illustrate their own books about creatures that live in the sea. This week, they visited elementary classes and read their books to the younger students. Mr. Hamilton’s second grade students were able to share their animal research project with the 7th graders. Everyone really enjoyed this activity!
We are excited to share these photos with you from a few of the Valentine’s Day activities our students participated in this week!
Today is National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! Thank you, Deputy Harrington for supporting our students and staff every day!
We are celebrating 100 days of school and learning!
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Shaniese Brown! “Shaniese is a third-year player and Captain on the JV Girls Basketball team. She is a leader on the court on both the defensive and offensive end. Defensively, she is always all over the court and always getting her hands on the ball. Offensively, she has had some big games for us this year scoring 10 points against Warsaw, 11 against Canisteo-Greenwood, 15 against Cal-Mum and most recently, 18 against Warsaw. Shaniese has also played in a few Varsity games and has done very well. It has been an honor to have coach her since her 8th grade year. She has grown and matured so much as a student-athlete and I am excited to have been a part of her journey, I look forward to seeing her at the Varsity level,” said Coach Clark.
