We honored two student-athletes during our Varsity Boys Basketball Senior Recognition Night: Justin Kemp and Jacob Rodriquez. Justin plans to attend Monroe Community College to study Culinary Arts. His favorite athletic memory is when he made a
3-pointer at the buzz just before halftime during the first round of sectionals last year. Justin would like to thank his grandfather for always supporting him. Jacob plans to attend Genesee Community College to study Criminal Justice. His greatest athletic memories are all from being part of the Mount Morris family. Congratulations, Seniors!!

In celebration of National Read Across America Week, Mount Morris Elementary is taking extra time to Stop, Drop and Read each day! Students choose a favorite book and enjoy extra reading time in the morning and again in the afternoon.

At our PRIDE Assembly, the following students received the Mount Morris Elementary School PRIDE Award for being a good friend: Colten Barnhart, Karissa Bergeron, Sarah Bump, Angel Caceres Pou, Collin Curry, Paisley Diliberto, Teaghan Gilg, Yailuanis Gonzalez Corretjer, Owen Guillod, Kellin Hilbert, Konnor Hyde, Allison LaGeorge, Alysah McQuoid, David Melendez Garcia, Gryphon Menard, Emelia Michaels, Jadean Ramirez Agosto, Victoria Ramirez, Anabelle Sanderson and Wyatt Willett. We honored four student-athletes during our Varsity Girls Basketball Senior Recognition Night: Mary Rose Cautivo, Izzy Chesnes, Edmee Lopez Crespo and Liz Young. Mary Rose plans to enlist in the Marine Corps and pursue her love of public service. She has filled her time here at Mount Morris participating in numerous prestigious extracurricular clubs including the National Honor Society. Izzy plans to attend FLCC for Child Care Education and is interested in being on the basketball and soccer teams while at college. One of her favorite athletic memories is making a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer last year during a home game. Edmee is currently working at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and plans to attend college to study Criminal Justice. She would like to thank her mom and dad for the endless support they have given her and for teaching her to never give up. She will miss the games and having practice with her team and would like to thank all the girls for allowing her to lead them and play alongside them. Liz plans to get her CNA and work for the State. Her greatest memories here at MMCSD are being able to play basketball with such great teammates. Congratulations, Seniors!!

At Mount Morris Central School District, we are proud to have two students, Robert Lonsberry (7th grade) and Warren Palermo (6th grade), participating in this year’s Scripps Western New York Regional Spelling Bee! Robert and Warren are two of 10 regional finalists, with school districts ranging from Bolivar Richburg to Williamsville. On March 6th, an online test will be administered which will determine the finalist who will represent all of Western New York at the National Spelling Bee. Congratulations, Robert and Warren! Good luck, spellers!!


On Saturday, February 20, 2021 two new school records were set by Sierra Somers of the Mount Morris Varsity Girls basketball team in a game against Pavilion!! Sierra tied the Mount Morris school record for most 3-pointers in a game with a total of 7 3-pointers! In the first 4 games of the 2020-21 basketball season, she has made 20 3-pointers which is not a school record category, but is extremely remarkable. Sierra also set our school record for most points scored in a single game with 33 points!!! Attention JH/SH students! There will be a Modified and Varsity Competitive Cheer meeting on Monday February 22nd at 2:20 pm in the auditorium. If you choose to attend, you are required to follow social distancing and mask protocols. The Varsity Cheer season will begin on Monday, March 1st, and the modified cheer season will begin on Monday, March 15th.


There will be no school Monday, February 15th through Friday, February 19th for Presidents Day Recess. Enjoy your time off! We look forward to seeing you all back on Monday, February 22nd!


Our fourth grade classes had so much fun playing in the snow and sledding on this bright winter day!!


Our Boys and Girls Basketball teams will be playing in their home opener games this weekend! On Friday, February 12th, there will be a Boys JV game at 5:30 pm and a Boys Varsity game at 7:30 pm, both vs. Geneseo @ Mount Morris High School. Two home spectators per athlete are permitted to attend with a valid league pass. On Saturday, February 13th there will be a Girls JV game at 12:00 pm and a Girls Varsity game at 2:00 pm, both vs. Geneseo at Geneseo High School. Our annual early dismissal drill will take place this Friday, February 12th. For grades PreK-6 dismissal will take place at 2:35 pm. For grades 7-12 dismissal will take place at 2:04 pm. All other aspects of dismissal will remain the same. Students participating in an extracurricular activity will be going directly to the location of the activity upon dismissal.
