The National Honor Society is a nationally recognized organization that aims to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character in students. Students are encouraged to apply if they have an average of 85 or above, good attendance and no disciplinary issues. Students will be evaluated based on their scholastic performance, character and leadership potential.

At our PRIDE Assembly, the following students received the Mount Morris Elementary School PRIDE Award for being Trustworthy: Abigail Allen, Angel Caceres Pou, Cameron Constantino, Logan Forbes, Maia Forbes, Ashley Gell, Hunter Krogh, Madison Lewis, Lucy Martin, Peter Martin, Grayson Newton, Bella Oddo, Eliana Oddo, Jolene Rawleigh, McKenzie Smith, Peyton Smith, Valerie Solis Santana, Dallas Tidd, Morgan Yencer, Jacob Zangerle. If you see any of these students please congratulate them!! Next month our PRIDE word is Responsible. Talk to your child about the importance of doing what is expected of you. We are so proud of all our students!


On December 21st Mount Morris Central School District's Karter Fanaro received an Award from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department for Doing the Right Thing! Karter, who is eight years old, received this very special recognition for his actions on the playground one day during school where he was able to stop a fight from occurring between two other students. Chief Aaron Galvin and our School Resource Deputy Jason Butterbrodt presented the award. Congratulations Karter!

Congratulations to Our Varsity Girls Soccer team, coached by Matthew James, for receiving the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar-Athlete Award!! At the end of each sports season, the NYSPHSAA honors those teams and individuals who excel in the classroom. To receive team recognition with a certificate, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00. It is a great honor to receive this special recognition!


Reminder: Tomorrow, December 23rd, is a half day for all students PreK-12 with dismissal at 11am. Enjoy your Winter Recess and we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, January 4th.

Our PTSA’s partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program benefits our community by allowing all Mount Morris Central School District residents to register their child/children under the age of five (5) to receive a FREE book in the mail EVERY month!

According to the National Commission on Reading the single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school.
